Sam Salz is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe everyone should be able to learn about Sam's story and reach out about speaking engagements, regardless of how they access the web.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities. This site is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA, meaning most of the content meets the standard, with the known exceptions noted below.
What we've done
- A “skip to main content” link for keyboard users
- Keyboard navigability with clear, visible focus indicators
- Text alternatives describing the interactive speaking map
- Descriptive labels for icons, statistics, and interactive areas
- Color combinations chosen to meet contrast requirements
- Support for reduced-motion preferences to limit animation
- Semantic structure with proper headings and landmarks
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas have limitations:
- Booking calendar: the scheduling tool is provided by a third party (Calendly). Its internal accessibility is maintained by Calendly. If you have trouble booking through it, please email us and we'll arrange your booking directly.
- Interactive map: the map is built with a third-party mapping library whose fine-grained keyboard controls are limited. A full text summary of where Sam has spoken is provided alongside it so the information is available to everyone.
