Faith, Football, and Showing Up Fully.
Sam Salz made history as the first Orthodox Jewish player in Texas A&M football. Today, he shares a story of conviction, team, and carving out sacred space in the most high-pressure environments.
“You can honor your faith and still show up fully for your team. Those two things aren’t opposites—they’re my why.”
Meet Sam
Sam Salz grew up loving faith and football—and refusing to treat them as separate lives. At Texas A&M, he became the first Orthodox Jewish player in the program’s history, navigating Shabbat, team culture, and the demands of major college athletics.
Today, Sam speaks to teams, campuses, communities, and organizations about what it really looks like to stand by your values while fully investing in the people around you. His message is raw, practical, and deeply human—rooted in lived experience in the locker room, on the field, and at the Shabbat table.
